Our classes are in the Learning Management System (LMS) called “Canvas.” It’s best to use the message system in Canvas because I am in there much more often than I check my email. But, that said, if you are having trouble getting into Canvas, or are not currently a student and have a question, you can email me at my school address: rlightfoot@shastacollege.edu. I check this less often than Canvas, so please allow time for me to get back to you. I work on M-F of school days, typically during the 8 am to 5 pm hours, but I do check in on numerous evenings, too.

And as they say at the doctor’s office recorded message, if it’s an emergency, dial 911.

The other way to reach me is via text, which I do check but less often than Canvas. My text-number is 929-399-3897. I get a lot of spam on this (as you can imagine since it is up on the web), but if you really need to reach me and the only thing working is your text, I will get back to you.

I am a part-time faculty member, and I mention this only because there may be semesters where I am only working a half-term, or even working without assigned classes. If you don’t hear from me, or see my name in the schedule but still need to reach me, contact the Division office, (530) 242-7731, and ask that a message be sent to me. The office has my personal (non teaching) numbers and such, and they can reach me. I understand that sometimes you may, down the road, need a recommendation, and I’m happy to do that. So do keep in touch and after you’ve had class from me, drop me a note every now and then to say hello and let me know how you are doing.
